Wellhead Platform Fabrication & Maintenance

Pipelines, facilities & platforms. EPC projects on flowlines and pipelines, the facilities they feed, and the wellhead platforms at the end of them: built, maintained and kept in service.

The service

Wellhead platforms, fabricated, installed and kept in service.

This is the work around the wells and flow stations: wellhead platforms fabricated and set over the creek, platform decks and drain platforms, piled foundations, manifolds, skids, and the piping that connects them to production. Winsko also maintains platforms already in service: repairs, refurbishment, replacement and hook-up.

Most of it is fabricated in Winsko's own workshop under a 50-ton overhead crane, then loaded onto its own barges at the Trans-Woji jetty and carried to swamp and creek locations, where crane barges and swamp buggies set it in place.

On a live field the installation is only half the job. Tie-ins, modifications and hook-ups are planned with the operator around production, so that new equipment goes in without an unplanned shutdown.

Health, safety and environment

Heavy lifts, over water, next to live wells.

Installation stacks the hazards: big lifts from barges, work over water, piling noise and vibration, and tie-ins on producing fields.

  • 01

    Heavy lifts

An engineered lift plan for each heavy lift, certified rigging, one banksman, and nobody under the load.

  • 02

    Work over water

Life jackets, edge protection on decks and a rescue boat on standby.

  • 03

    Piling

Exclusion zone around the hammer, hearing protection and checks of the pile and leader alignment.

  • 04

    Live wells

Simultaneous operations planned with the operator, permit to work and continuous gas monitoring.

  • 05

    Hot work

Hot work permits, fire watch and extinguishers; no hot work near live equipment without gas clearance.

  • 06

    Towing and mooring

Tow plan, weather check before sail-away, and mooring lines kept clear of the crew.

FAQ · 05 questions

Questions, answered.

Short answers about wellhead platform fabrication & maintenance at Winsko, from the company profile.

01

What wellhead platform work does Winsko do?

Fabrication, installation, hook-up, repair, refurbishment and replacement of wellhead platforms in swamp and creek locations, together with platform decks, drain and utility house platforms, piled foundations, manifolds and skids.

02

Where are the platforms fabricated?

Most of the steelwork is fabricated in Winsko's own covered workshop in Port Harcourt, under a 50-ton overhead crane, then loaded onto its own barges at the Trans-Woji jetty and set in place on site by crane barge and swamp buggy.

03

Does Winsko maintain platforms that are already in service?

Yes. Winsko has repaired platforms at Alakiri, refurbished and hooked up a wellhead platform at Cawthorne Channel (Well 24, 2018) and replaced a wellhead platform at Alakiri (2016).

04

Can installation be done on a producing field?

Yes. Tie-ins, modifications and hook-ups are planned with the operator around production, so new equipment goes in without an unplanned shutdown.

05

What lifting capacity does Winsko have?

An 80-ton track crane, tyre cranes from 22 to 50 tons and a 50-ton overhead crane in the workshop, with lay barges of 600 and 500 tons and barges up to 1,200 tons to carry the loads.
